Bolton is located in the south west side of Caledon , Regional Road 50 is the Main Street with King Street as the cross road at down town area. Like most towns in Caledon the main reason that Bolton is located where it is, in general ,is the intersection of the Rail Road and the Humber River. Founded in the mid 1800 , the Town has much of its Historic Charm Character in place in the down town area as well as many of the fine farms that surrounds the Village. Locals think of Bolton in terms of Bolton South Hill and Boltons North Hill and if you take time to visit you will see why! The historic area of Bolton is at the bottom of a huge valley with the River and the quant Shops, its quite a sight. Homes in Bolton range from smaller century homes in the downtown area to Estate Properties just north, off of Old Church Road. A majority of the homes are now resales as few homes have been built the Village in the past two decade or so. Price wise the range is a vast a most centers with town homes in Bolton ranging from the low 300,000 to 375,000 range for a three bedroom town house with a finished basements. Detached homes are varied as well Bolton South Hill is the largest center of detached home with prices ranging the mid to high 400,000 for three bedroom models, four bedroom homes with finished basement s have been commonly sold in the 550,000 to 600,00 range. Is seems that the fabric of the Bolton area is the ease of getting to Toronto and the surrounding area ;as well as the Green Space that Caledon has become famous . Caledon has numerous Conservation Areas within a short drive with Albion Conservation Jus t north by a few kilometer. The Green Belt has kept the growth of the area down to a sensible level to keep the Caledon Hills much the same as in past decades. The Oak Ridges Moraine traverses the area as well as the Humber River Valley and the Niagara Escarpment to the West , throw in the Credit River Valley and you find a huge amount of dead end roads and large tracks of green space to explore ! Some of the most expensive real estate in Bolton is located a few kilometers north of Palgrave , homes on large 3-4 acre lots are highly unique because of the amount of ponds found in the area. Many of these homes have a pond with in view of the house and many are used for swimming as well. These homes start in the mid 700,000s for a house that might need a bit of updating. Newer examples are commonly resold in the 1,200,000 -1,400,000 , make no mistake these home are among the finest ,swimming pools , country setting with privacy , 4-6,000 square feet , designer kitchens and more.
